TATA IPL 2025 Player Retentions List Announced
The player retention window for the TATA Indian Premier League 2025 season closed on October 31, 2024, with all 10 franchises locking in their key players. A total of 46 players have been retained, with a combined expenditure of INR 558.5 crore.

For the 2025 season, each team has a salary cap of INR 120 crore to assemble a squad of up to 25 players during the mega auction. Franchises were permitted to retain up to six players, with no more than five capped internationals and up to two uncapped Indian players.
Both defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and former champions Rajasthan Royals have chosen to retain the maximum six players each. Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained five players apiece, while Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) retained four, three, and two players, respectively. Punjab Kings will enter the auction with the largest remaining budget of INR 110.5 crore.
